We had the pleasure of speaking with this lovely duo about their most recent album “Remember Roses”. Check out the interview below to get to know them a little more.
Where are you two from?
Yael Shoshana: We both live in Tel Aviv, Israel. Gil is a real Tel Avivian, and Yaeli is originally from a small town in Israel.
Has there been a life experience that you would say has affected your music?
A few years ago, before Lola Marsh, I lost my voice permanently. It was my childhood dream (to be a musician), and I was so sad about it. I had a surgery, and after the surgery, my voice changed. It was more broken and low, and it took me time to get used to it and love it again.
When I met Gil, it was like magic. We had this strong connection from the beginning, and he liked my broken voice. We both wrote the music we love for Lola Marsh that also suited my new voice.
Wow, well it seemed to have worked out well for you! Your voice is so unique and makes your music what it is. If you were to describe your album "Remember Roses" in three words, what would they be?
Cinematic

Nostalgic

How do you want your fans to feel when listening to your songs?
When listening to our songs, we want our audience to feel like they are escaping from their daily life. We want them to move; feel happy, sad, nostalgic and open their hearts.
One last question: If an alien came to earth, and you had to show them one song only, which song would you show them?
